new entryway chest

In my last post about Seaside Home, I told you all that I did buy one thing there. I have been searching for an entry way chest for at least a year. We didn't see this on my first visit to the store. Thankfully, I went back three times, and found it covered by a mirror. She was rearranging her new shipment. Anyway, what do you think? I am very excited about it!

We have the Historical Society's black tie Gala tomorrow, and I have nothing to wear! Shouldn't have waited to the last minute, now I can't order anything. Here are a few I wish I were wearing.
I don't normally wear red {unless to a UGA game}, but I love this!

what's your style?

I just found this personal style quiz @ Ada & Darcy . My style was Hamptons Whitewash. That is probably a decent description, since I like coastal influences in my house. The picture above is a little magazine cover you get after the quiz, and below is an inspiration board, I guess.

serenbe

Serenbe is a large residential development located in south Fulton County, Georgia. This is not new to the blogging world, but the article in this month's Southern Living reminded me that it was on my blog list. It was in the beginning stages when I lived in Newnan. Newnan is only about a 15 min drive to Serenbe. My friend, Jennifer, and I checked it out as soon as we heard about it. Love at first site! Every detail of Serenbe has been well thought out. Charles and I try to go eat dinner at the Farmhouse restaurant when we can. After dinner, you can walk around and pet the small animals, play croquet, and even jump on the inground trampoline. It is such a beautiful place, check out their great website.

This is a picture of the commercial area. Serenbe is growing it's number of cute shops, art galleries, and restaurants. The Blue Eyed Daisy is one of our favorites.

When the barn was finished, I was in awe! I would love to pack it up, and move the boys to the Serenbe farm!




Back to my days in Newnan. This house below was the Cooking Light Fit House. I believe in 2006 or 2007. We took a tour, and it was great! There was a dog wash area in the basement.

I think this is one of the houses featured in Cottage Living. Spending time at Serenbe has taught me that I would love to have a new house one day that looks old!

Back to the commercial area. There is a great restaurant called the hil. We have only been on Sunday brunch, but I am ready to go back. It has great style.

If you live anywhere near Serenbe, I urge you to go spend a Saturday there. You can also join their email list on the website. They send out news and events that go on at the organic farmers, market, shops, restaurants, and even special rates to stay at the inn.

even more Kmart finds!

I almost forgot about these. My post on Friday had the Country Living line of furniture at Kmart, but I also found some other deals. For months, I have been on the hunt for a very affordable upholstered headboard. I would really like to have a fully upholstered bed. Since I am into nailheads, I would love this one featured in this month's House Beautiful.
{I am working on transforming an existing headboard into an upholstered looking one, will post more on that later}

I hope you all don't think I am obsessed with Kmart. All of these finds were very surprising to me. I am inteterested to know if any of the actual stores carry this stuff. Let me know if you see their new furniture in person, and how it looks!

I will be leaving town tomorrow, so may have to take a blogging break until next Monday. We will be in Saint Simons Island, so should have more house/real estate pictures to post.

Athens real estate

We had a successful game day Saturday in Athens. Charles and I weren't really in the mood to go to Athens after losing the first game. As soon as we got into Athens all of that changed. How could I have forgotten how fun a Saturday in Athens really is!! We now have a great tailgating spot, and were able to meet up with great friends.

I forgot my camera, so didn't get any cute house pics. There really are some great homes in Athens. Hopefully I will have pictures of some of our favorites by the end of football season.
