textile tuesday!

It's been a long time since the last textile tuesday here on real estate style. The fact that we will be moving at some point, {our house is for sale} really gets my decorating juices flowing. I have tons of new inspiration photos saved that I will be sharing soon.

Lately, I have been liking the look of a casual, bright striped fabric. I even like a seersucker. What started this was my visit to Seaside Home in Saint Simons earlier this year. I fell in love with this swivel, rocker, club chair. It ROCKS! Literally & figuratively...

Here's a close up. Kind of puckered like a seersucker. Very light and cheerful.

So, it got me searching for seersucker striped fabrics online.

I absolutely love the striped feed sack looking fabric above. I took a trip to Lewis & Sheron the other day, and they have more colors. Maybe good for pillows at $45/yard.
Anyway, I will continue to post ideas for a new house. Now that the Comer Jones Cottage is complete with it's coastal aquas and greens, I plan to continue that theme in a new house as much as possible. {Mainly to keep using what we already have!} Another reason I tried to keep our house somewhat of a continuous theme is the size. I think for a small house, it's nice for it to flow, and not have rooms that are completely different. Maybe if we end up in a larger house, I can change it up a bit.

Textile Tuesday!

It's been awhile since my last textile tuesday. I figured I would wait until a new fabric really got me. Today's featured textile is Windsor Smith Home's Riad by Kravet. You can buy it for about $55/yard here. I have put these in order of my favorite colorways.

I first fell in love with this fabric at my favorite store. You can read all about it here.

See the pillows on the beds? Love this for bedding.

Riad also looks great in living rooms! Look how great this room is from Cote de Texas.

The wall color in this house is very similar to our new master bedroom color. I could probably mix in a pillow or two.....
Still planning to post pics of our bedroom progress. And now I need to post pics of my office. About a week ago, Charles helped me completely rearrange it, and I LOVE it!!

textile tuesday!

I couldn't go through the day without posting some fabric. Today's pick is Thackeray Seaspray from fabricut. I like the colors. It's a little more muted than I go for, but was in my favorites folder.

horsey textile tuesday!

The whole family spent some time together yesterday. That includes: Charles, 2 Whippets, 2 horses, & me. In honor of Duke & Abe, we have a horse inspired textile tuesday. I usually do fabric by the yard, but today our textile of choice comes in the form of pillows.

Tomorrow I will post more pictures from our southeast Ga house tour!

textile tuesday!

In the latest issue of Coastal Living, there is a master bedroom that is motivating me to finish ours. The fabric above is used in the room. It is Cranley aqua/nutmeg by Lee Jofa. I have been searching other blue/brown and aqua/brown fabrics. These two below are some I found that I like. I will post more on that as I make some progress!

I do love when I stumble across a new fabric site. This one is from Designer Studio Fabrics. It's civilization aqua sand for $29/yd

textile tuesday!

Today's textile tuesday is all about zebra stipes. I am always on the lookout for a good one to mix into our living room. Also, I have thought about using some on our dining room chairs. {I am having trouble deciding what fabric and paint color to use on our chairs} Here are some inspiration pictures from Erin's dining room @ elements of style
She has a post on her blog about repainting and covering these. So, this is one option, paint our chairs white, and cover with a zebra print. I will post more pictures and options on another day.

This photo below is actually a shower curtain I found on Amazon. I like larger zebra prints.

We could also go this direction. This is Sudan Linen from Lewis & Sheron.

or Bangal from Lewis & Sheron. This color would match our sofa color.
Reminds me of this chair from Horchow
This is Highland Court flax artichoke

This is from Etsy

One more from Etsy. Might be a little too bright, but I like it.

textile tuesday!

Today's textile tuesday is about more Whippets! This is a tear out below from our old beloved, Domino. I just loved the Whippet print on the ottoman. It's not really my color scheme, but I love it anyway. {I love anything Whippet}. I only started blogging recently, but I am thankful I started a binder of favorites from magazines about 3 or 4 years ago.

textile tuesday! I need your help!

Please pardon the terrible picture. This was taken by my phone. It's a pillow I found. I really like the fabric, and think it would work as an accent in my living room. I am looking for yardage, does anyone know what this fabric is?

Also, trying this Mclinky thing again. Link to a post on your blog with one of your favorite textiles, or link to the website of the fabric!

pillow talk

On Tuesday I posted two fabrics that I have in our living room. Maureen @ the Ingle Nook Decor blog left a comment about seeing the finished pillows. Well, I still need to take decent pictures of our living room because it is close to being finished. Until then, here are some close-ups of the pillows and the fabrics.

I bought this sofa at Abode 7 in Atlanta. It was the floor model, and they had the back four pillows covered in a stripe with golds and mustard colors. I had the new covers made in the Bohemian Rapsody from Lewis & Sheron. {The small striped pillow is from West Elm} Also, since this picture, we have 2 new small coffee tables.
I love this fabric! At $45/yard, I got lucky with remants for much less! We have two of these chairs, and I am still debating on what color to paint them. I am sort of fading black out, and the fabric on the sofa has brown. Also on the look out for a good fabric to cover the seat cusions.

textile tuesday!

Today I have two fabrics for textile tuesdays. Still procrastinating on that Mclinky gadget so you can post your favorite textile!

This one is Akamai that I bought at Lewis & Sheron Fabrics in Atlanta. I have two pillows in this with a cream rope piping. They are in our living room.

This is Bohemian Rapsody, also from Lewis & Sheron. This is on the back pillows on our new sofa. The sofa matches the tan/camel color in this fabric. I have really enjoyed having the mix of greens and aqua/teals in our house, and this fabric has set the tone for our entire house. Have a great Tuesday!

textile tuesdays

I've been meaning to get a Mclinky thing working so you can post your favorite fabric, and link back to your blog. Procrastination is a terrible thing. I will get it done soon, but today wanted to bring back textile tuesdays to post one of my favorites.
The fabrics above are from Romo fabrics. This line is called Manderley, and my favorite color is the one on the left, Azure. I also LOVE the painted chairs! Even though I don't have a Mclinky yet, tell me about your favorite fabric!
