NYE Masquerade Tonight!

If you live in Griffin, please join us at the Bailey-Tebault House for the Historical Society's NYE Masquerade Cocktail Party! For more details visit our Facebook page. Should be a fun evening.

I tried to find a picture of my new Tarjay dress, but it wouldn't let me save. It is red, and I am planning to make a black mask. Bought my supplies at Hobby Lobby of course. I am hoping it will look something like this. Although, I only have two of the big black feathers.

We will have masks available for those who don't have them. I think they might be similar to this. Starts at 8, pay at the door, and breakfast casseroles will be served right after we ring in the new year!

See you on the other side. Hope you have a fabulous new year!!

I didn't know I liked Chuck Taylor?

Well, the shoes that is. I can't resist a good bargain. Saw these at Beall's outlet {you probably have to live in a small town to have one of these} tonight. Christine and I decided they were too cute to pass up. Just so happened to have both of our sizes. Real Chuck Taylors! I really have never had any interest in them, but the light pink got me. I'm wearing them now. Might wear them to bed. Very comfy, I never knew.
I really did get a great deal. Saw them on Amazon for $39.
It's not even 2010 yet, and I'm turning over a new leaf, trying new things, branching out. You catch my drift...Good night. Can't wait for tomorrow!

a little more Christmas decor

Before the Christmas season is officially over, I thought I'd post a few pictures of our Christmas decor. We do not have tons of Christmas up since our house is small.

You may remember my handmade burlap stockings for the girls from here.

Reindeer from American Mills outlet.
I was pleased with our tree. We searched for a slender tree. I admit, I never put a star on top. It had weird branches. I do want to find more starfish for next year. These were 2 I had, and hot glued ribbon on. White mattelasse tree skirt with green velvet border is from Ballards Back Room. I bought it this summer for a steal.
Since our tree was green and aqua, I needed a place to put my old horse ornaments. I put up this little tree in my office.
The butterfly ornaments were from the Dollar Tree last year. I was hoping they would have them again so I could buy more blue. They didn't...
This is not Christmas decor, but new decor in general. Remember when I first spotted this mirror here.
I love it. Looks great with our fabrics in the living room.
Still need to find a cool chest/table to go under it.
That should be it for Christmas posts! Need to focus on the new year!

our Christmas

Here are some of our pictures from Christmas day.

This was Savannah's first Christmas with us. I think she had fun.

Opening their treats and Christmas lobsters.

Sophie got a red one, and Savannah got a green one. {The green one is already missing a leg}
After Christmas morning and lunch with Terry and Murelene. On the way to Americus.

Delaney {my niece} got a new barbie ride. She's a pretty good driver.
Sophie and Savannah hanging with their dad.

Charles will be doing some serious cooking.

I didn't know Rockband was so much fun. Can't wait until next time! Hope you all had a great time over the holidays. Now on to new year's eve!

{Americus, Ga} The Maze

The day after Christmas, we did some shopping in downtown Americus. Americus is my hometown, and it is always fun to visit. One of the main attractions is the Windsor Hotel. The Windsor is a victorian hotel built in 1892. Around 1993, the grand hotel was restored. I remember wearing a t-shirt as a kid that said "I'm behind the Windsor." There are shops on the street level. If you decide to explore south Ga, this is the place to stay.

Back to the shopping. Very close to the Windsor is The Maze. The Maze is a store with different vendors similar to the Antique Griffin here in Griffin {where my booth is located.} The Maze has been around for awhile, but this was my first visit. It is located in the old Sheffield Hardware building. When I was younger it was a furniture store. I remembered the great brick floors on the lower level. Saturday, I didn't take any pictures, so these are all from The Maze Facebook page. You will find more there.

Tons of space, they have all different types of vendors. From furniture, clothes, jewelry, and more.

I am so proud of Americus for having such a cool store. I will be back.

I searched for a price tag on this aqua book shelf....I don't think it is for sale.

Want to see what I got?

Love my Hermes scarf....not really, just an orange scarf for $12. Lucky for me, I found someone willing to model.

To add to my coastal obsession, bought this little guy. I love these starfish, I only had the smaller white ones.
Charles didn't really understand my buying this little crate, but I like it.

It already has a home. {Lower right side of cabinet}
More Christmas to come...

our family

I can't believe Christmas is over! It came and went so fast. We had a great time with friends and family. A big thank you to Terry and Murelene for a great visit, wonderful food, and thoughtful gifts. Also, thanks to Bubbie and Kim for hosting another great Comer/Jones/Stovall family Christmas. I had no idea how much fun it is to play the wii. Lets just say there was a lot of Beatles Rock Band going on. Thanks Mom, Dad, Bubbie, Yah, Kim, Andrew, Davis, Sarah Beth, & Delaney for a fun time in Americus!! {Also to all the kitties, thanks for putting up with our girls below!} This was our little family 2009 card.

We are packed and ready to head south. I think it's actually going to be cold this Christmas in south Ga. Wish I had a few of these....

Also Anthro.

Old Navy. This one would get worn often.
Have a Merry Christmas! Hope Santa is good to all, and see you next week!
