important things....

Since I have decided to step it up a notch, and really get into this blogging thing, I must post pictures of my favorite three boys. You've seen the girls, Lane & Sophie. Now is it time for Charles {human family}, Duke {26 equine family}, & Abraham {19 equine familly}

Thanksgiving '08. I made Charles & the girls pose for a million pictures. I think we used this one for our Christmas card~can't tell, there are too many!
Duke & Abe in 2006 when we lived in Newnan.
My sweet Abe.
They really are great friends, have been together for 10 years! I got Duke when I was 10, so we have been together for 20 years! I don't really remember life before Duke. Also, haven't known anyone longer except for family. Duke is an old soul. He was born old.......and grouchy. That's why we love him! He is very level headed & has that goold ol' horse sense.
Abe joined our crew in 1999. I knew him before then because my friend Jill owned him for a couple of years. I finally decided to give him a shot after a really bad relationship with an English horse named, Leicester :( . Abe is my sweet, loving horse. He likes to lick your hands, and LOVES to get back massages. He really has been the best!
They both live at a farm in Griffin about 10 minutes from my house. They are happily retired, and have a great time! They also have a friend named, May. Lane & Sophie really enjoy going to see the boys too...

Bathroom Inspriration

I loved this picture! Liked the style of the faucet, the counter, and the backsplash. So I found this faucet in the 2nd pic. It is Vestige by Moen. Purchased through my favorite plumbing supplier, Industrial Wholesalers in Griffin, GA. Taylor Kinnett, owner, was my personal helper!!

The Mercer Train Rack at Pottery Barn was the best one I found. I knew I would need extra space for towels, and didn't want a cabinet over the toilet. The 2nd pic is from Restoration Hardware. This was the inspiration for my custom vanity.

These 2 pics are showcasing my fave carerra countertops. Decided to go with an undermount, porcelain, oval, white sink bowl.
This was to help in designing our shower. We wanted seamless glass.

That is all for now. To be continued......

Renovaton:: Phase 3 Choosing Details

All I knew when I started my renovation, was that I wanted a bathroom with Carerra White Marble. I didn't know if that meant on the floor, counter, &/or shower. I first considered mixing the carerra white counter and accents with a light slate floor. {Trying to picture in actual space}

I next considered mixing with a darker slate. I found this tumbled slate at Home Depot. {I carried my carerra tile with me at all times :) }

Finally, I decided to nix the slate all together. Since our house is a 1930's cottage, I thought the slate would be too nuveau! {Still might mix the slate with marble in a new house}. Once I decided on carerra marble floors & counter, the next issue was tile size. I did NOT want to use 12"x12" tile. When I priced other sizes in marble, I learned my only way to afford a unique size was to have my tile guy cut the 12"x12" tiles in half. I knew my shower was going to have white subway tiles laid in a brick pattern, so I thought the floor could mimic that in a larger version.

With floor, counter, and shower walls decided, I wanted to put an accent in the shower. I also needed a non slip shower floor. I found these cool 1"x1" tumbled carerra marble mosaic tiles. I put these on the floor, and used as the eye level accent on the shower wall. Final pics to come....

Renovation:: Phase 1 Demo!

The demolition phase.....was very stressful, wondering if we made the right decision to add a master bath and master closet to our 3 bedroom 1 bath house.

Our House Renovation:: Before Master Bath & Closet

This is before we took on our major renovation at 612 Bieze Street. The first picture is our house before, taken around Christmas '08. The next picture was taken from a magazine {I think a Southern Living Plan}. This was the inspiration for our new look. I have had this picture for years in my "favorite pages from magazines" binder. The last 2 pics are interior pics of the front porch. The next post will have phase 2!
